Community Overview

Our story began in the late 1980s when our building was originally a buzzing recreation centre with classrooms, dance studios, and squash courts. Fast forward to the late ’90s, and the interior of the building was reimagined into stylish, contemporary condos. In late 2009, the exterior received a sleek, modern upgrade, transforming it into the stunning building we now call “home”.

Westside Lofts is a dynamic and close-knit condo community that offers residents a unique blend of comfort, convenience, and community spirit. Located in the heart of the inner west of the city, our loft-style condos are designed for those who appreciate modern aesthetics and a sophisticated urban lifestyle. Miranda Hulet

President
Owner since: 2007

As President of the Westside Lofts Board, Miranda leads the board’s efforts to maintain and enhance the building while ensuring that every resident’s voice is heard. She is deeply committed to fostering strong connections with all residents, prioritizing open communication as a cornerstone of a positive living environment. Miranda also understands the critical role that strong relationships with service providers play in the success and well-being of our community. Additionally, she upholds the condo bylaws and ensures compliance with the insurance agreements that Westside Lofts is bound by, recognizing these responsibilities as essential to maintaining the integrity and safety of our community.

Kevin Doree

Vice-President
Owner since: 1998

Kevin Doree, the first official resident of Westside Lofts since its conversion to loft living, has unparalleled ties to the building. As Vice President, Kevin’s deep commitment to the community is evident in his no-nonsense approach to board activities. He ensures the smooth operation of board initiatives, and his detail-oriented nature guarantees transparency and engagement for all residents.

Renée Francis

Treasurer
Owner since: 2010

As Treasurer, Renée ensures the financial well-being of Westside Lofts by meticulously managing budgets, condo fees, and reserve funds. With a strong background in financial management and public relations, she is well-equipped to make decisions that benefit the entire community. Renée is committed to balancing immediate needs with long-term planning to secure the financial sustainability of our building.

Jodi Lynn

Special Projects Manager
Owner since: 2023

Jodi Lynn offers a distinctive perspective to the board, frequently acting as a bridge between residents and board members. In her role, she oversees the implementation and management of exterior projects, playing a key role in enhancing our outdoor spaces and improving curb appeal. As our “resident greenkeeper,” Jodi is deeply committed to transforming our communal areas while ensuring that the diverse interests of all residents are represented, helping everyone feel connected and valued.

Cheryl Baker

Secretary
Owner since: 2012

Cheryl is responsible for maintaining precise and comprehensive records of all board meetings, decisions, and communications, ensuring that the board’s activities are transparent and well-documented. As the primary contact for residents seeking access to meeting minutes or official documents, Cheryl is committed to providing timely assistance to all resident inquiries. She also manages the WSL Hotmail account daily, ensuring that communication with residents is prompt and efficient.

Karen King Property Management

At Westside Lofts, we are proud to partner with Karen King Property Management, a company renowned for its commitment to excellence and personalized service. With years of experience in the property management industry, Karen King ensures that our community’s financial operations are managed with precision and transparency.

Although Karen King & Associates Inc offers full-service condo building management, our dedicated volunteer board team takes on most of the property management responsibilities. This approach helps us keep our monthly fees as low as possible. Currently, we rely on Karen King Property Management specifically for their expertise in financial management, including budget planning, financial reporting, and reserve fund management.
